sheffield offseason surgery

rotoworld is saying sheff's going to have offseason surgery because his shoulder hurts that bad.

would you guys consider this a reason to deal him?

i think he continues to play well and put up good numbers even with the bum shoulder. he's been playing great with it and i dont think that will stop. still if you can get fair value for him maybe trading him isnt such a bad idea.

As long as he's playing well, I see no problem. If you can get a good deal for him, I'd probably do it, but I wouldn't go out of my way to try to trade the guy. So, keep him unless you get a great offer.

I wouldn't worry about trading him...he should be ready for the start of the season anyway. He might also have his thumb operated on (same problem Jeter had fixed this last off-season). Hopefully he doesn't go into a Jeter-esque slump to start next season.........

his shoulder looked ok when he was pumping his fist after sliding into second base last night!! Big smile too!! I'd swap him for Vazquez in a heartbeat though...although I've got both at this time!!

Don't really need Vazquez though. Since my pitching staff includes

Prior, Wood, Moyer, Oswalt, Contreras, Glavine, Smoltz, Lidge and Takatsu.....

I'm loaded in the outfield too with Sheff, Vlad, Anderson, Pierre, Grissom and Hunter.....
