For this year and next I would have to go with Sosa easily. He isnt that old yet.............., and its too unrealistic to measure one great year for a young player over more than several great years for one of the games better sluggers (cork theory aside..........., I really dont want to go there).

V. Wells is the real deal no questions asked though. In 2-3 years he should be out produceing Sosa. In todays blooming era of player longevity, no real telling how long Sosa can keep going though, as Sosa is still only 35 or 36. Even if Sosa emulates Bonds and keeps his power numbers unreal for a good many more years, I would think V.Wells speed and 5 tool #'s (speed!!!) should make him as valuable if not a little bit more.

If your league counts strikeouts, like mine, take a serious look at Vernon. I drafted him over Sosa this year because Sosa is a K machine.

Vernon

I'd have to go with wells when he is healthy just because he gets so many points on hits and runs and doesnt lose as many to strikeouts
Let's play two!

Sosa by a fair margin in my opinion. I don't see Vernon Wells coming close to some of Sammy's better years, though I do see Vernon developing into a solid hitters in the 30-40 homerun range.

the reason I ask is because I just delt away D Graves to get V Wells, and this guy in my league tells me I could have gotten Sosa (for Graves)from him...

I know this isn't the trade froum but.....did I F*ck up? I thought not until he weighed in w/ his opinion....

what do U think?

It's a toss up probably...Sosa might have slightly better numbers, but it's still a good trade for you by any means.
