Camp was a 16th round Padres pick in 1997. He closed at rookie, low A and high A. Has since been a setup type with varying results. Doesn't appear to be one to get excited over, but off his 1-2-3 ninth tonight in his first opportunity, perhaps he'll get a few more chances.
Given KC probably won't win more than 20 games the rest of the year. Is it really worth it?? I understand being desperate for saves, but not at the expense of guys that could put forth a 5+ Era and insane WHIP getting 5-6 saves a month.
ack! any KCers out there with inside info? Also dropped Affeldt for Field recently. That's okay if there's a committee, but if Camp has a shot at full time close duty, I need to know!
I'm definitely holding off on him until the situation is a little clearer. I did drop Field however, but I'm definitely not going to take a chance on Camp just yet...
2 days ago, on local radio, Pena said it would most likely be Field or Jaime Cerda getting most of the save ops. I wouldn't put much into Camp's save last night. I'd keep an eye on the situation though, as Pena's preference is to have one guy as closer.

Actually Pena said it would more than likely be whoever is pitching well...so closer by committee...Cerda, Field, Suillivan, Huismann could all see time
And to the guy who said KC will only win 20 the rest of the way....wow you think the ROyals will set the new loss record...how sweet

Yeah I don't imagine many more victories. The Royals are in a pathetic state now.
They did horrible in the Beltran deal. They should of gotten the best players and not insist on a 3B/C.
