The guy also has Manny in LF, his active 3B is Robin Ventura (Chavez is on the DL) and his one closer is Benitez.

I don't think you'll get Crawford with Burroughs and Looper.

No way you will get Crawford that cheap now.

It is no exaggeration to put this guy as a Top 5 fantasy OF.

In roto terms if he steals 70 and hits .300 even with no more homers that is equivalent to a .300 power hitter that doesn't steal like Berkman hitting over 80 HR's.


I rated Pierre highly this year for that same reason but this guy is quicker and has more power. I doubted Crawford could maintain a .280 average to put him on a par with Pierre this season but it looks as though he is going to give .320 a nudge.

This kind of production is definitely 1st / 2nd round material.

the thing is, people don't respect steals as much as they respect homers. whats more, homers get you hits, runs, and rbi. the most a stolen base can get you is 1/4 of a run (so to speak).

the thing is, i'm not sure if i would trade crawford for berkman strait up... on either side. so much of it depends on how the league is stacking up. for instance, there's only one other team withing 20 steals of my 65 sb total, so all those stolen bases are really getting me is 1 point. but if i was in the middle of the pack, where there are 5 teams in front of me by less than 15, the addition of crawford could amount to 5 points.

well Im in a H2H league, but still, crawford is a top 15 OF in points, no way would i trade him for that crap that was offered. If you prefer power (and boston if youre a sicko) then id consider trading him straight up for manny -- there pt totals are almost identical (in our scoring format anyways, hard to say withtout knowing yours), but unless youre dying for saves or something, Id never do that (crawford can command a dotel or wagner)

Crawford has singlehandedly got me in first in SB in my 5 x 5 league. How many players can singlehandedly carry a category? On top of the SB's he is scoring gobs of runs with an average. I'm not sure there is a deal I would accept for him in my keeper league

I have Pierre and Crawford. Pierre's on my bench because Crawford gives me more than enough SB's by himself. If I can get Soriano to steal more, I'd run away with that category.

Using roto 5 x 5 normal scoring categories, so far this season he is definitely a Top 5 OF.

In fact he could be as high as Top 3.

Vlad is No. 1 by a mile, Manny second but I would argue Crawford is 3 ahead of Bonds, Abreu and Mora.

i think a-rod is still no 1. he gots what 16 sbs with like 19 hrs are something. O anyway in akeeper league i had to package mulder to get crawford and peavy in a keeper league just show on how much this guy is going for right now.
