I have a feeling the more sabermetrically inclined folks here would have a field day dissecting such a shoddy use of numbers... :-D

Interesting that the Wall Street Journal would publish something like this. :-?

(And before anyone jumps on me, these comments have nothing to do with either abortion or the upcoming election. :-)

It is somewhat counteracted by the deaths involved when we go to war...afterall, the majority of U.S. troops are Republican.

Granted abortions have far outweighed war casualties lately, but one large war would turn the numbers around in a hurry.

well that one confuses me ....

we abort millions, ,, ,, MILLIONS of babies ...
And we only lose a few soldiers ? 1000 at the most ..

Of the millions of aborted babies...you have to assume that at least half of them wouldn't even vote to begin with. Therefore half of those millions wouldn't influence elections one way or another.

I know the number is still high, but also it's not a 100% guarantee that Liberal parents (ie believe in abortion) would raise a liberal child. Perhaps the baby would grow up Conservative, or Independent? So that counteracts the number even more.

I'm not a Liberal (in fact, I'm a fairly strict Republican), I'm just pointing out the misconceptions here.

I know but if you even just say 10% would vote lib. You are still looking at millions of votes on the dem side, compared to maybe a thousand dead in a war! There is no case that could be made where that point would have any legs!

I'm pretty sure the majority of soldiers don't care about politics. In fact, they despise it.
