i heard the same thing lastnight on nyfan 660 about hidalgo... meaning the mets will buy out of his enormous contract and try to renegotiate, but if he continues to his this well they might need to pay him that money... and the other option was magglio ordonez, and this is all contingent on how well hidalgo plays for the rest of the season really... according to nyfan 660
He would really have to play well to keep his $15M contract. IMHO not even Vlad and Beltran deserve that type of money although they'll earn it. I don't see Hidalgo pulling in a similar contract to them.
no i agree 100% on him not deserving 15m... but the point being made is hidalgo will want a figure close to that if he continues to perform this way, not saying he should, but he might want a nice large figure like that

What about dealing Wiggy and Jason Phillips to the Bucs for Benson and Kendall with the Mets taking on about two thirds of Kendall's contract? I know the Bucs would love to get rid of Kendall's contract, and Phillips is killing them in the lineup. Big overall savings for the Bucs. .....another thing bieng discussed on WFAN is the possibility of the O's dealing Javy Lopez.............I'd say that's a big longshot.
