Will the Mets make anymore deals?

Kazmir should not be brought up yet, he had a abdominal injury and just pitched his 2nd game back, at the earliest if he can move to AA this year once he gets healthy and be dominant like he was last year, next year could be a possibility late in the year.

Agreed. Kazmir (if he pans out) may be a starter in 2006, possibly in late 2005.

How was Reyes babied? He jumped from AA to the major leagues.

Wigginton doesn't suck. He may never grace a fantasy baseball roster but he plays the game the right way and he bleeds orange and blue. And Wigginton would be a lot better if someone would shift him back to second base.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

I like wigginton, but as a backup....
i wouldn't have minded us sending Kaz for freddy
but too late....
They should move this guy to 2nd to take the pressure off
Kaz struggles at evry aspect of the game, and it's killing us.
Let's Go Mets!

A friend of mine said that the mets were going after Paul Wilson. If the reds are in the hunt why would they make that trade? Anyone else here of other rumors?

I hope that's true...his value will never be higher, and we all know he's overperforming. And yes, I'm a Cincy fan saying this. Finally, a spot for Claussen might be a reality. ;-D

I think the Mets might trade Wigginton + Seo/Ginter to get a starter. They also should bring Wright up right now. He's killed AA and now he's tearing up AAA.

nobody thinks they should bring another bat in? or some bullpen help? getting hidalgo was a good deal for the mets, considering they didn't give up much at all to get him, but the mets are still sorta weak offensively. and also i think the mets really need some bullpen help. they just don't have any proven guys, i think. stanton is the only established guy, and he's HORRIBLE. as a mets fan, i honestly hate him. whenever he comes into a game i start sweating, its like armando benitez all over again. it would be nice to get a good closer and move looper to a setup role, even tho im a big looper fan. its just whenever he has more than a one run lead he likes to give up a run, just to make things interesting or something. damn i wrote alot.

Yes it was reported in the Journal News this morning.

The rumored trade involves Ty Wigginton for Lidle or Wilson. I am not sure why the Mets seem dead set on trading Wiggy just because Wright is being called-up. Let us keep a guy who will be a great bench player and not cast him off for a No. 4 pitcher. :-t

David Wright will be the other bat. Any other bat would cost the Mets too much just to take a run at the NL East this year.

The bullpen will be better because Strickland is coming back, Moreno is back, Yates will settle into the bullpen and Ring will get a call-up alongside Wright.

I had heard there was a good possibility that the Mets trade Wiggy to the Pirates for Benson, in basically a salary dump for the Pirates. While Benson is probably a better no 4 then either Seo or Ginter I dont really see how the deal helps us unless we sign Benson long term.
