you mean aside from the fact thta Texas stadium is a hitter's park?
Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he'll drown because you forgot to teach him to swim.

yup.
he puts anti-gravity juice on the ball when he pitches.

He's a pretty heavy ground ball pitcher. Texas as a team plays much better at home. A lot of stadiums are hard on ground ball pitchers, especially those with terf. Its pretty unreal splits i agree. I don't really understand why matsui is hitting around .200 in yankee stadium and 350ish on the road either.
54.1 IP - (4W-1L) 1.99 ERA, 1.07 Whip, 29 K's and .214 BAA
Away:
44.0 IP - (0W-4L) 5.11 ERA, 1.36 Whip, 22K's and .296 BAA
How the heck does that work?
Here's what you are leaving out. The only two times this year that Drese has given up more than 3 runs in a game were on the road. Yes, you read that correctly......Drese has started 15 games and has only given up more than 3 earned runs twice. Just so happens they were back to back outings on the road (May 27th @CHA [7 er] and June 1st @CLE [5 er]). That's where the big difference is.
His current composite era is 3.39 and if you take out those back to back bad starts, it drops to around 2.50 for the year. Not too shabby at all.

I posted this in another thread yesterday, but I'll say it again for you people who are not listening:
During the offseason, Drese worked with Hershiser to transform into a sinker/groundball pitcher. Prior to this year, he would simply try to outpower batters, but he has finally learned how to use his talents for him, and has a great sinker to complement a very good fastball that, when thrown up, is his K pitch.
DON'T LOOK AT HIS PAST STATS. His pitching style has completely changed so they are totally irrelevant. I have seen him pitch numerous times this year already, and he has shut down some huge offenses in that hitters' park. PICK HIM UP if he's still available. He has a tough schedule ahead (his next start in IN Houston), but he has not given me a reason to bench him yet, so I'm giving him a go. I'm just pointing that out in case he blows up soon then I'll be blamed for everything. Pick him up, but you may want to wait to spot start him for a while until you become a believer as I am.
even tho i dont know too much about his background, i'm also kinda sold on Drese.. he should be at least decent from now on. his numbers look legit to me.
btw look at Steve Trachsel's home/away splits
Manny Ramirez....$20 million
Pedro Martinez....$17.5 million
Curt Schilling...$12 million (and a $2 million bonus)
Never hearing a Yankee fan chant 1918 again...priceless.
