I have a little problem...I have a Kicker L7 sub and a Audiobahn capacitor, now I'm about to get an amp. I've been wanting to get a JBL1200.1 amp but have just recently found a Rockford Fosgate RFX6 amp that I can get for around $100. Does anyone here at the cafe know anything about this amp?
Well, correct me if I am wrong, but is the power range on the L7 75-750 watts RMS? And 1500 watts peak? The L7 is not a sub that is known for sound quality, but it will give you some good SPL. I dont care for Fosgate amps, as I think they are over priced and really dont push out what they are listed at. They are usually pretty sloppy, but the RF X6 is one of their better amps. I would go with the JBL 1200 and wire it to run 1200w x 1 @ 2 ohm. While you are getting the Fosgate at a great price, you would be more satisfied with the JBL since it will give you plenty of power and should sound better. But I would be careful when adjusting the gain and all that fun stuff on the amp, you dont want to push the sub too hard since you are giving it LOTS of power.
Well the Fosgate stil pushes around 850x1 at 2 ohms, so it's got some good power to it also, and I'd be saving about $200. That's why I'm considering getting the amp. I was just wondering what the quality is on the RFX series amps 'cuz I had never even seen them before.
