First, I agree completely with Hybrid's above post and wonder the same things.

No, of course not. And it's not just other teams prospects, either. I was never high on Reyes or Kazmir, either.

I'm not trying to be a jerk here at all, but out of curiosity, are you calling Reyes or Kazmir busts? They both have the potential to be stars.

That being said Kazmir is always a kid that some will doubt due to his size and his average control to this point.

Well, I have seen Upton play. Just twice, which isn't a lot, admittedly. But it was enough for me to begin to question the hype.

I've admitted it's nothing but a gut feeling. I was just curious if anybody else saw the same thing. Only time will tell.

Oh, and it's not that I'm down on all the over-hyped minor leaguers. I love Prince Fielder and I've been high on David Wright for ages. It's just a gut feeling, not even the "his fastball is too straight" that I suggested with Greinke. Maybe he strikes out too much, but that's going on memory.

Really, hybrid. I was just asking if anybody else had the same slight uneasiness with the amount of hype this kid is getting. To me, he'll be a Derek Jeter who doesn't hit for as high an average and doesn't date Mariah Carey. That's it.

I see a lot of minor league games, because I live in Atlanta and can't stand the Braves fans. They drive me nuts. So I saw him play last year in two different places - Charleston, when visiting my sister and Orlando, when visiting a friend. I think.

And I've never had a Yankee avatar a day in my life. Can't stand those scumbags.

Maybe Menyak is playing some sort of mean trick on him and letting him see a Mets Avatar, while it's a Yankees avatar to everyone else. Note to self, don't mess with Menyak.

Just joking about the Menyak thing...but it is definitely showing up as a Yankees avatar on my end. And no, I'm not kidding. Make a thread in the General Talk forum if you want to hear what other people see.

Maybe you're just being sarcastic and the Yankees avatar is some kind of inside joke, but I'm not sure.
