Worst pitching performance in a while?

Postby warrick95 » Sun Jun 27, 2004 6:10 pm

Mike Matthews...Reds

0.2 innings
9 H
1 BB
8 ER
1 K

on 43 pitches

He gave up 5 consecutive hits and a walk resulting in four runs before recording an out. It was a flyout to deep right by Jason Kendall. I didn't watch the game, but it was probably near the track, considering how badly he was pitching.

He entered the 9th against the Pirates, no less, down 6-4. Needless to say, the game was blown open after that.
