All year I have been rotating people at 2B, and it's worked out decently, but not great. Lately I have been playing choads like Aaron Miles and both Hairstons. Decent players in stretches, but not studs. We have verly limited bench space and I was just considering picking up Giles from the free agent pool, and taking zeroes across the board at 2B till he gets back. Today's sites are reporting GREAT progress on his injury, and he expects it to heal fast. I believe some of the time will be devoted to the All-Star break as well. Anyone ever try a move like this?

He's out for at least 2 more weeks, and within that time, a guy like Hairston or Miles would give you quite a few runs and probably a few HRs and steals over that time. I think if you can wait another week or so, that might be OK. I wouldn't do it just yet though personally. Giles would have to be a pure STUD when he comes back to warrant hanging on to him now.
Personally, I am so stoked about Giles coming back. I've stuck him on my DL and am just thrilled that I only have to wait two weeks. That said, I don't think you can take 0s across the board for two weeks to get him. But I would drop some bench guy to get him.
Since he is floating around you FA...I would definately make a drop to get him....but don't take the Zero's across the board....that will cause you to lose more points than splitting time with the others...
If it was a few days...I might try it....but not for a couple of weeks...

England's Worcester Canoe Club set the world record for paddling a hand-propelled bathtub. The 25 man team covered a distance of 55 miles, 425 yards in 24 hours on September 28 and 29, 1979.

ehh, not necessarily. sometimes just eating it is better than going 2/24 and blowing your BA out
Play Scott Hairston, or how about this one: Ray Durham if he's on your WW. And you won't hurt your BA. But don't take goose eggs for two weeks. Giles is bound to be a little cold at first.

Same here. I couldn't believe my good fortune that he was available for the taking in my roto league. A couple of teams stashed him, then dropped him. I'm already whooping ass in HR and RBI, so he's going to add to that. The predicament will come when he comes back...Jose Reyes or Marcus Giles...on a team that only has Beltran stealing bases. He'll be good trade bait to say the least, I guess.
I wouldn't take 0's across the board and get Giles. Is there really nobody worse on your team to drop?

My bench is all starters. David Wells and Trachsel are the worst of them. I think Trax is the candidate to go for Giles. Getting hit well by the Yanks and is awful on the road.
