Pods is better. This is the first year that Crawford is hitting above .300, while Pods did that last year, so expect his BA to rise, but probably not as high as last year.
Also, while Crawford has stolen just one less base than Pods, he has been caught 10 times to Pods's 2! When Pods starts to hit more singles, the SB will rise. He was on a very good streak before his BA slumped, so that could change.
I was a huge supporter of Pods in the pre-season and it seemed as if I was proving myself right in the first month of the season but now, I'd rather have Crawford than Pods. Crawford will put up descent numbers overall, but I don't think Pods will.
Pods is slumping, he's as valuable as crawford so far this year even with the slump. Assuming he comes out of it he'll be more valuable than crawford in the long run. However pods is in one of those trying to hit everything for HR type slumps instead of one of those... the ball just won't drop for a hit type slumps, so it may take him some time to get it together. If you have both of them I'd keep both of them though. You should win runs and SB most weeks and when pods gets it together you'll have a nice boost to avg.
FOr this year on out Crawford is probably a better bet, but starting next year i think pods will be the better pick because his power and average are just going to get better. Within two years he is a 30-30 guy with a .300+ BA.
For next year and beyond I give Crawford a huge edge. Crawford hit for slightly more power in the minors than Pod, he steals more bases, and he'll hit for a better average.......plus he's 5 years younger. Pod's about as good as he's going to get right now.

You're forgetting that Pods is not a young upcoming player. He is 28 years old, right at prime age. I highly doubt he hits even 25 HR a year and that he hits .300, when he never even hit .300 in the minors.
I'll take Crawford now and in the future. Crawford IMO has the chance to get a lot better; he's what 23? With his size he could develop some power to go with his steals.
I think his prime hasnt come yet. Some people put up better numbers with age and experience and i think he is one of those people. Podsednik is going to be one of the guys who still preforms great at age 40
