Crawford... ... hes faster. Pods crazy SB sucess rate is completely unprecednted and has to go down. even tho Pods has the HR hand, Crawford is big for a "speed" guy and has more power than whats reflected in his HR totals till now.. hits in a better linup.. will score more/as much runs and also get more rbi's cos of the AL/NL diff.
plus Crawford is better in terms of BA also
Manny Ramirez....$20 million
Pedro Martinez....$17.5 million
Curt Schilling...$12 million (and a $2 million bonus)
Never hearing a Yankee fan chant 1918 again...priceless.
Pods gets a lot of walks, so the OBP isn't much different (.340 vs. .330) even though Pods' AVG is lower than past years. With that AVG, Pods could get a lot hotter, while Crawford is playing about his best. Still, weird to say, but Crawford's lineup is better. If you traded Pods, beware of selling too low, make sure you get something good in return from someone who needs steals. Nothing wrong with having 2 great leadoff guys.
Pods is better. This is the first year that Crawford is hitting above .300, while Pods did that last year, so expect his BA to rise, but probably not as high as last year.
Also, while Crawford has stolen just one less base than Pods, he has been caught 10 times to Pods's 2! When Pods starts to hit more singles, the SB will rise. He was on a very good streak before his BA slumped, so that could change.
