Another good outing for Webb

Webb looked great tonight. He pitched 8 innings, threw 100 pitches, and posted a solid 2.25 ERA, 0.75 WHIP. Only had 4 k's, but he looked really solid. I have been saying this since he had that string of bad games about a month ago, and have taken some heat for this, but trade for him now. He will be a great second half performer. The only down side I dont like is that he is not getting much run support.

He was always going to come solid. No way you fluke a season like he had last year, just going through a common second year regression.

I've picked him up off waivers in two leagues so I've got him in 4 out of 5 teams now. As you say, the big downside is his non-existent run support.

No offense, but I think this is an unfair comparison. As numbers go, sure Greinke is actually better, but Webb already has one great year under his belt. Yeah he lacks run support, but I am a LOT more sold on Webb than Greinke, who really could get lit up at any time as far as I'm concerned.

Mainly it's just that Webb has logged a LOT more major league innings. Incidentally, I do think that he's worth owning in a 10 team 21 player league, if only as a number 5 starter.

I'm looking for an ERA around 3 the rest of the way out and 8 to 10 wins. He just had a rough 3 or 4 week stretch. He'll settle down.

I owned both Greinke and Webb until about a week ago before dropping them both - and no taker so far for either one in my league.
