Beltrans value going down?

I know that beltrans hitting in a better hitters park now, and will have more rbi chances, but i've heard that beltrans gonna bat 3rd. Is anyone afraid that he's gonna run much less?

He's going to run less no matter where he bats. No need to take risks on the bases with Berkman, Kent and Bagwell behind you. He couldn't say the same in KC.

Agreed, see Soriano as an example. He most likely won't be running much unless he hits 2nd in the order, which doesn't look like will happen.

The extra BOMBS he hits will make up for any lack of steals that may happen!

I think he will still run. In case you have not noticed, the Stros are not exactly scoring a ton of runs. While they wont use it like KC did they will still use it!

yep, his steals might go down but his overall value can only go up.. his run production's gonna be awesome if old man Biggio and Everett can keep it up.. he'll easliy be amongst the top 3 in run scored from now on. his BA will def go up also. as long as youre not in dire need of speed and youre relying largely on Beltran, you should be a happy Beltran owner.

KC is a better hitter's park than Houston, though Houston is a better HR park. Probably evens out. His value will go down because he's switching leagues which almost always leads to a sub par year while the hitter gets used to the pitchers. Also as was said above, his SB's will go down significantly.

On the plus side his last month has shown he's not very happy with the situation in KC so he should do better than he has been lately.

its supposed to prolly but Beltran's hitting 227 with a 760 ops this year at Kauffman for some reason. most of the good part of his stats have been collected away from Kauffman. so moving to Minute Maid will prolly help him. also every single ballpark in that division is a good hitting and HR ballpark.

this might actually work out against him but the protection he'll het at the 3rd spot is beyond crazy.. he should get to see a lot of pitches so his "adjustment period" should be less or even negligible imo. but yup the unfamiliarity factor could hurt him potentially.
