Garcia's losses aren't his fault. His ERA is 3.21 and his WHIP is 1.23. Ortiz's ERA is 4.18 and his WHIP is 1.48. Garcia is clearly a lack of run support while Ortiz has not pitched well enough to win those games.

Now what??

I'd hate to have Ortiz on the Yankees. I want no part of him at all. I'd much rather go after Garcia or even keep what we have- Contreras, Leiber, along with El Duque who could be big in the playoffs as a 4th starter/long relief if healthy. His postseason career is insane.

I can't wait for Duque to come back. He's 7-0 in the minors last I heard. Watch out he could be a great late-season pickup for the home stretch.

Now what? I'll tell you.... It's not like Ortiz is getting plenty of run support either. He's given up way too many runs I agree with you there, but still he hasn't exactly gotten a huge amount of run support. In his last four outings the Braves have scored a total of twelve runs... (3-4-3-2) While giving up five runs to the Phillies isn't a shame, with the offensive power they have....In two of his other starts where he either got a loss or a no-decision he alowed onl 2-3 runs over seven innnings....So it's not all as bad as you say....

Ive watched Ortiz alot in the last year and a half, and he's not that bad. He walks alot of guys, but doesnt give up alot of hits, and almost no home runs, so the walks seldom hurt him. The bottom line is that his ERA is decent and he wins games. While I dont think he's an ace-type pitcher, I'd hate to see him leave the Braves
