BELTRAN TO YANKEES IN 48 HOURS??!?!

Postby ajgnydc722 » Thu Jun 24, 2004 1:54 pm

My friend was just telling me that on Baseball Tonight (aired 12:00 noon EST) which was about 2 hours ago.....Peter Gammons said he expects Carlos Beltran to be traded to the YANKEES for prospects, Navarro, Jeff Duncan, player to be named and cash.

He expects a deal to be done in the next 48 hours!! 8-o My friend is also telling me that the Red Sox want him badly and are offering Youkalis and Crespo right now.

I don't think my friend is screwing with me either. He sounds really serious.

Did anybody watch Baseball Tonight and hear this??

Actually, I think he meant Eric Duncan. 3B HS prospect out of Seton Hall Prep.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

YES...that's who he meant. ERIC Duncan. Ok so this might be for real but I won't know unless I see Baseball Tonight again or unless they post something on a site about this.

Anybody else watch BBall Tonight??

Here's some talk...mostly about what an idiot Gammons is...

on bbtn, they said there was a possibility that it could be done very quickly, like in the next 48 hours. And the yankees arent guaranteed anything, they are just one of the many suitors, tho probly the one willin to give up the most. Relatively speaking however, they are willing to part with their best in their farm which is equal to sh!t on any other teams farm system.

He didn't mention the yanks specifically in the 48 hours thing.

He just said that there were 3-5 teams in the running and that he wouldn't be surprised if a deal was done within 48 hours.
