I predict Jose Canseco won't have another 40/40 season. Someone with insider information told me his knees are bad. PS...This info HAS to stay on this board.
In a more serious reply, my question is: Will this season be the one where Ken Griffey Jr. finally falls off the face of the Earth?
I've been a Reds fan my whole life, and close watch over Griffey has told me a few things. The main being Griffey does NOT like to work hard. The "kid's" got all the natural talent in the world, but the older he gets, and the more people that tell him he's an incredible player, the more he actually believes it's true. That's bad news for a guy like Griffey, because he decides to stop his work ethic, not run out pop flys and grounders, loafing it between innings, pregame workouts, etc... Griffey will always hit 20+ HR's out of sheer talent, but there's a good chance he might go the way of the "Michael Jordan" of baseball: David Justice. Sometimes the hype gets into their heads.
I don't know about Griffey falling off the face of the earth, but I agree that it's a pivotal year for him. There's a chance that he'll take all the criticism surrounding him seriously and raise his game (and leadership) to a higher level, but I agree with Chicago that the odds of this are slim.
this year's biggest dissapointments have to include:
Giambi
Halladay
Prior (although he's pitching well now)
Delgado (hitting well now)
Loaiza (most thought he would stink, I hope)
Ensberg
Vazquez
Nomar
Zito
Mussina (pitching better now)
Bonds
He's having one of the best seasons of all-time! Granted, a lot of that isn't counted by most leagues (walks/OBA) but I don't think he's been a disappointment at all.
"Jack, will you call me, if you're able?"
"I've got your phone number written, in the back of my Bible."

I just wanted to slip that in there to see people's reactions. Dont worry, I am not disappointed in Bonds at all.
Manny Ramirez....$20 million
Pedro Martinez....$17.5 million
Curt Schilling...$12 million (and a $2 million bonus)
Never hearing a Yankee fan chant 1918 again...priceless.
