What is the point? Why does it matter if most of the players are white or black or latin american or asian? It makes no difference. Good baseball players are good baseball players no matter what color their skin.
Absolutely Adequate wrote:That's an interesting observation. A couple of years ago, I noticed them being predominantly white, but hadn't paid enough attention this year.
I wonder if there have ever been any teams with no white players?
(by the way: I don't think that anyone is calling anyone a racist. It's just a weird statistical anomaly and it's interesting. Lighten up.)
It think these observations are borderline inflammatory and need to be relegated to the General Talk section alongside politics. People who make these "observations" normally have an agenda. I want to talk/argue baseball not racial inequality.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

Coincidence?
They are trying to field the best team they possibly can. Why does it matter what color they are? Should they field a lesser team just so a certain background is represented?
Doesn't your argument fly against "affirmative action"?

I aplogize if I've overreacted.
