According to John Lowe of the Detroit Free press, the Tigers have signed Guillen to a 3 year contract extension worth around $4.5 mil/year. Here's a link:

This is great news for the Tigers. Guillen, batting .322 with 10 homers, 83 hits and 49 runs, ranks as one of the best SS in the league this year. He has also shown great range and strong arm, with relatively few errors. He looks very fit and there hasn't been any signs of him being a poor influence as had been one of the rumored reasons for Seattle's giving him away. In fact Guillen is being credited for being a great clubhouse guy and queit leader. He has helped Omar Infante to learn to be what looks like a passable back-up MIer.
This is fantastic news for the Tigers. Now if they can find away to shore up their pitching staff!
