Manny Hit one HR this year that was a line drive shot at center field (410ft) I mean it was still rising and it hit the back of the stadium with a crack. They marked it at 501 ft but I another guy marked it as 617.

Red Sox lore has Jim Rice back in the late 70s hitting one onto the Mass Turnpike (over the Green Monster and Landsdown Street beyond) into the back of an open-bed truck. The driver discovered the ball when he was unloading his cargo in Indiana -- some 800 miles away.

Lots of legends about Rice, who was a GREAT power hitter in his prime. He's said to have broken a bat once by CHECKING his swing.

Glenallen Hill cracked one out of Wrigley in 98 that traveled 550-575 ft.

It landed over one of the rooftop buildings in left field!!! It was a shot.

I saw Barry hit one half way up the third deck in Yankee Stadium. Unreal. He got a standing O, too. I must admit, you guys are really good fans.

I also saw Piazza hit one off the top of the left field porch into the parking lot in Chavez Ravine. A monster shot. But only some of you are good fans, which, I also must admit, prob includes the Dodger fans in here.

1998 I was at Pro Player Stadium- Andres Gallaraga hit a mammoth home run into the upper deck off of Kevin Brown.

This was not a traditional baseball upper deck people, this was the football upper deck where no-one even sits .

I think they said it had to be over 540 feet, it was un-human. Next at bat Kevin plunked the Big Cat in the ribs and they both got ejected for a brawl .

That shot was only barely over 500. I remember watching the replay over and over after the Yankees signed Hill. It was still an absolute blast but it wasn't that far.
