Pitching Staff...

Postby KeyWestCorona » Mon Jun 21, 2004 9:08 pm

I am in a H2H points league, 10 teams. I don't feel like I am getting as much out of my pitching staff as I should be. Anyone else think its ok as is or is it not worth saving?

P-Miguel Batista
P-L.Hernandez
P-Brad Penny
P-Od.Perez
P-Prior
P-Francisco Rodriguez
P-C.Zambrano

Bench
P-Beckett
P-Kevin Millwood
P-Willis
P-John Smoltz
The weather is here. I wish you were beautiful.

The only problem with Perez and Livan is their run support. Everything else about them is fine.

Smoltz just isn't getting enough opportunites, but that will change. Atlanta always hits a hot streak in the summer, so he'll be ok.

I would think you would have to be please with Batista's numbers so far. An ERA under 4.00, decent K's, manageable WHIP, 5 wins despite the slow starts and injuries to Delgado and Wells. Same with Penny. A good pitcher, but not as good as his numbers so far.

I would hold tight and expect good things from Beckett and Prior and probably expect Batista and Penny to come down slightly. You might even try moving someone to pick up a closer.

Overall, it looks like you've got a few guys that are off to great starts, which has more than made up for Prior and Beckett's injuries. You may not have the wins to show for it, but your ERA and strikeout numbers should be very good.

Just noticed it was a points league. I'm far from an expert when you venture away from roto leagues.
