We've already covered baseball flicks, but what about sports movies other than baseball.
1) The Program (great flick about college football, somewhat negative)
2) Any Given Sunday
3) Rudy (incredible true story)
4) Hoosiers (great period piece)
5) Chariots of Fire
6) Seabiscuit
7) Ali
8) Raging Bull
9) Slap Shot
10) Mystery Alaska
11)The Rocky Bleier Story (that's not the full title - not great but the story is, how he came back from Vietnam wounded and couldn't play but refused to give up and Art Rooney refused to allow him to be cut - he worked out for a year in incredible pain and had an operation before he made the team - went on to a 1,000 yard season and Super Bowl glory - just shows what you can do when you want something bad enough.
I want to see that new movie Miracle about Herb Brooks and the "miracle on ice" - anyone here seen it?
There's 2 others but I can't think of the names of them - maybe someone can help:
1) Dennis Quaid and John Goodman - starts with them in college ball and then on to the NFL and how dreams don't always turn out.
2) A couple years ago there was this one about a runner from Oregon who went on to be a star but whose life tragically ended early in a car accident - also tied in to the startup of Nike shoes.
Still holds the MLB record for Grand Slams with 23

yeah that is pretty good, but what about
REMEMBER THE TITANSi loves that one
Yup, can't believe I forgot that one - great movie especially because it's a true story.
And I'll go along with Rocky as well, but not all of the 37 sequels, lol

My favorite sports movie...non baseball related is Without Limits....the Steve Prefontaine Story..a truley saddening and inspiring story at the same time...

Everybody's All American and Prefontaine.
Thankyou on both - it seems to me there were 2 movies about Prefontaine that came about the same time, one in the theatres and one made for TV - do you know the name of the other?
