If I had more experience in fantasy baseball as a whole, this was my 1st year, I would have known that Bonds as a first draft pick was terrible and in general not a good first 10 round pick.
With the amount of walks he garners in every year, and the terrible lineup he is in, I have definitely learned my lesson for next year.
What is your opinion on Barry Bonds in regards to value in fantasy baseball?

In any league that counts walks, OBP or OPS he should be the first pick in the draft. For regular 5x5 he should still hit .360 or so with 45-50 home runs albeit with only 90 rbis. I'd take him at the end of the first beginning of the second round just because his lack of at bats make his BA less important than someone like Vlad and his .330 with 600 at bats I think.

Right....it depends on the format. He is great for points leagues that give decent points for walks (and especially ones that give negative points for outs and/or Ks).

In the future, if you don't know, just go by the pre-season rankings. The pre-season rankings I thought the most accurate were MLB.com and ESPN.com. The rankings on this site aren't too bad either because it averages 8 "experts" together to come up with an overall ranking.
For some reason Yahoo rankings were horrible pre-season this year. They had Vlad ranked 23rd or something obscene like that.

i have u beat....the first overall pick in my league was Roy Halladay. Bonds is at least doing good, but isnt a top 5 pick. Hes a justifiable late first or early second rounder. But Id take him middle 2nd round.
