This is an annual event to celebrate one of the most taxed countries in the free world. Tax watchdogs calculate what percentage of our yearly wages go to the government in various taxes and from that calculate how many days it takes to pay our tax burden before we can actually pocket our money were we to pay all our taxes up front. Well this year, it took until yesterday to pay all our taxes, in effect every dime we earned up until then went to the goverment - starting today, what we earn is ours.

I don't make much money (partly because one of my jobs is under the table) so I don't get charged too much for taxes..........but once I'm done school and in the "real world" it's gonna hurt to see how much the government takes
I think that more taxes, if spent properly, are a good thing though. It's a shame so much of it goes to waste..........if only I were the PM...........

If I could give one word of advice, LBJ, then IRA would be it. Put it into the ol' IRA so that 1)it's not taxable until you use it 2)it lowers your taxable income.
Congrats to all of our friends North of the border on their new found freedom...
Now get your government to use some of the tax money to warm the air in the winter...before you send it down to us...

Not all tax money goes to health care. With those injuries you'd be a lot better off to have paid for insurance/national health care which costs money up front.
