What makes you laugh?

Postby stomperrob » Mon Jun 21, 2004 1:18 pm

How 'bout the best comedy movies of all time:

1) Planes, Trains, and Automobiles
2) The Big Lebowski
3) Blues Brothers
4) National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
5) Animal House
6) Blazing Saddles
7) Airplane
8) History of the World Pt. I
9) Uncle Buck
10) Bulletproof
11) Who's Harry Crumb

#4 is an annual traditon in our house, and I watch #1 at least once a year as it's very therapeutic, never fails to make me laugh - it was only the second movie to make me laugh out loud in the theatre (Blazing Saddles was the first). #2 is bizarre and quirky and extremely original and funny.

At least its not hard to see who your favorite comedy actor is stomperrob. PT&A, Uncle Buck, Harry Crumb? Christmas Vacation is definitely a classic, quickly became my favorite holiday movie ever. I tend to love the really oddball movies like Python's Holy Grail, Mom and Dad Save the World, or Naked Gun/Airplane style movies. But to tell the truth I don't think I have ever laughed so hard as I did the first time I saw Jackass: The Movie.

Any Mel Brooks movie is hilarious. Blazing Saddles, Spaceballs, History of the World Pt. 1, The Producers, Silent Movie, Young Frankenstein, etc.

The man is a genious.

Oh, you just like Life of Brian because of the full male nudity.

The Jerk, now that's a funny movie. Also, has anyone seen the original "Meet the Parents?" The one made by Emo Philips - no Ben Stiller, No R DeNiro - Just brilliant.

And I recently enjoyed "Bubba Ho-Tep" more than I should have. Fantastic.
