Josh Beckett will miss Tuesday's scheduled start against the Braves because of his strained lower back. "We're in no rush to get on his turn," Marlins manager Jack McKeon told the team's web site. The right-hander's next turn is slated to come on Saturday, June 26. Beckett suffered the strain on Thursday—his first start since coming off the disabled list. He had been sidelined because of a blister on his finger.

Anybody have any thoughts on how Beckett will do the rest of this year? Can he get (and stay) healthy or will this back problem linger and affect him? Even before the blister, he seemed somewhat inconsistent this year. He was awesome his first couple starts, then faded a bit. His K rate is great, but his given up 4 or more ER in five of his 12 starts. Is he really an ace at this point or given too much hype because of last year's World Series?

I'm a little concerned with the guy myself...He needs to start urinating on his hands and following Roger Clemens' offseason workout regimen!!!!

Then I think he will be a top notch pitcher
