Geez, this guy only plays three times a week...It seems every other day John Flaherty is catching.

Maybe he's a 33 year old catcher.

maybe his face hurts...
Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he'll drown because you forgot to teach him to swim.

I agree. It's getting ridiculous. They should take half off his salary, that lazy bum.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

and it usually gets worse as the season progress'. Especially come September when they start resting up for the postseason. Posada always seems to start his rests early ....

Thats why Piazza will reclaim his throne as the number one C in rotobaseball

from the star ledger:
Backup John Flaherty was the starting catcher for Contreras' 4-2 victory Tuesday night over the Diamondbacks at Bank One Ballpark. It's the third time in four Contreras starts since he came back from the minor leagues on May 22 that Flaherty has been his catcher, and he has pitched fairly well in all three. So for now, Torre is going to stick with the arrangement.

so flaherty is unofficially contreras is catcher, so you may want to sit posada whenever contreras starts

You wanna know why he gets so many days off?????

Because he is the only catcher in the league who is guaranteed to be in the playoofs each year.....he needs the extra rest so he can be productive come the fall.

If i were a mets fan..... I would never put "Catcher" and "Man enough" in the same sentence.
