Results of Schilling's MRI

Postby saxeT1979 » Fri Jun 18, 2004 2:44 pm

Anyone heard anything about the results from Schilling's latest MRI?

I am keeping my fingers crossed on this one. I can't afford to have another stud hit the DL.

WEEI is reporting that Curt Schilling's MRI results show his ankle is "stable". He will make his next start.

I guess by stable they mean no change from the last MRI they took. Schilling was able to start after he had that one done.

Thats good news...thanks Rajin.

I did find this on Rotoworld from this morning...
Curt Schilling reported that his right ankle (bone bruise) felt fine after Wednesday's start.
Schilling will have an MRI today to determine, if he there is any further damage in the ankle, and whether he can continue to pitch with the injury. Jun. 18 - 6:20 am et

Looks like he is going to be okay! B-)

If you are interested in the Schilling injury, then you need to listen to the archives of the Fantasy 411 on mlb.com from one of the last few days. At the beginning of the show they break down the injury and what it means. The show has a listener who is an orthapaedic surgeon, and constantly provides insight into what an injury means, how long the player will be out and and how good they are when they get back. If you cant be bothered listening to the show, let me tell you, it doesn't sound promising at all for schilling. The guy went into detail as to what it is that he has, and how it is NOT good news.

Thanks, Ryno, always the font of info. I was putting together an offer for Schilling (thinking his owner might panic and sell lower than usual). Now I'm gonna panic and go after his CZambrano instead (who merely has a "sore" shoulder) :-o
