Wasn't get brought up as a Short Stop, then moved becuase A. Gonzalez was a star... I think I heard that on Sports Center... Anywas... Couldn't he move to ShortStop?

Yeah he signed a 4 year $32 million deal that was contingent upon a new stadium being built. Otherwise, Lowell's contract becomes a one-year deal with player options beyond 2004.

Yep, he was a SS when he was younger in the minors. But he wasn't switched because of anything like that. He was switched in the minors mainly due to him just out growing that position. So, I doubt they would ever move him back.
