The astros are doing awful. They can't hit for crap. Wade Miller allowed one run in what, 7 innings. No one hit. Redding had a gem. Wow, no one hit. Oswalt did relatively well. Wow, we lost.
What's wrong with the astros? Is it just because of pettite? Bad managing? A run of bad luck? This is really irritating. Dumb Jimy made Dotel pitch 46 pitches ( the most in his career) on Monday I believe, and that's why Dotel didn't pitch well during his blown save. He had absolutely no pop. All the relievers are overworked. Redding was miffed 2 outings ago because Jimy janked him out.
But then again, they can't hit. Look at that lineup. Looks good on paper, but no one is hitting.

show him what he wins, Johnny!
Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he'll drown because you forgot to teach him to swim.

Jeez dmxdawg, wheres your friggen faith. It's been a combination of all the things u said, with the biggest emphisis on Jimy Williams stupid coaching. But it is far from over dude. We're five games back, reds play cards coming up soon. That will help. What they need is a few continuous wins. They have had no momentum all year, and I sincerely believe a hot streak will reserruct them.
Time will tell, dont lose hope, fight the power.

DMX....I will say this from the other side of the dugout...even though the Cubbies have a 3.5 game lead over the Astros right now....and took a four game sweep*....I for one, am still looking over my shoulder...right now the 'stros are not hitting...but with that line up, they will....and a very solid staff behind them....I would be very suprised to see more than 2 or 3 games separate the Cubs and the Astros at the end of the season...
*...gotta gloat while I can....

England's Worcester Canoe Club set the world record for paddling a hand-propelled bathtub. The 25 man team covered a distance of 55 miles, 425 yards in 24 hours on September 28 and 29, 1979.
Gah it's just been frustrating. Why did we ever fire Dierker? He got us 4 pennants in 5 years. Jimy Yank-Me-Out didn't even get one the last couple years, and we've fielded great teams.
fire jimmy fire jimmy now send him back to the red sox.
At season ends if the Atros dont make the playoffs i could almost be certain jimmys would get the boot.
Yes, it is sadly true that the stros' lineup is dead with the exception of Biggio, Berkman, and Kent. I don't know what happend to Bagwell. His power numbers aren't that great, and his ba keeps falling. Berkman has been carrying the team by himself and I hope they all soon pick it up to get some freakin wins for oswalt.

Probably that shoulder of his. I do wish that lineup would start hitting. Kent has put up good numbers for me, but I still feel like there's something lacking from him--like he has yet to really hit, and I wish he would.
