The Red Sox had always considered him a great prospect. I don't think Loazia ever got that kind of compliment so I can't compare the two. And it isn't like Pavano pitched poorly last year, he did get the starting nod in the playoffs over Willis, so he did do something right last year. He just looks like a late bloomer. Will he be a consistent 15+ game winner for the next 5 years? I don't know, but I could see him winning 12-16 games and being very serviceable as a number 3 pitcher on a fantasy team.
