How do player saleries work. Is there some way to find out how much a player "demands" for future years?

Well, if you sign a player to, let's say, a 5yr/$80 deal, he will receive $16 each of the 5 years. There is no signing bonus.

When determining a player's value (when his contract is up), the average of his value the previous year (let's stick with $16) and what his real value is (let's say $20), the average of those two numbers becomes the new player's "asking price".

If you release a player, a portion of his salary will be removed from your team's salary cap (I don't have an exact amount yet).
