"Demeanor" isn't relevant. Different closers have different demeanors. The only thing they have to do is pitch well. Thats all.

I would have to agree. There are some closers that aren't amped up to the hilt all the time out there. At least not on the outside. Graves, Nathan, Sasaki (I know he is gone but a great example), even Mariano Rivera is pretty low key. This Lehr kid has got the make-up and I would love to see him get a chance. I think they give Duke a chance first though.

Note that the A's have now stated that he's not in the closing mix, at least for starters. Nevertheless, he's worth keeping an eye on considering their current closer situation.

Then again, they also stated a week ago that he wouldn't be called up...

I agree - don't think there's much choice but to give him a shot there sooner or later and I'm bettin' sooner.
