Ranking Oliver P

Postby vladrules » Wed Jun 16, 2004 6:33 pm

Has he hit a wall? Will he fade? He's been solid but he has won in awhile.

For the rest of the year, where does he rank with the following?

Moyer
C.Lee
Weaver
Greinke
Millwood
Webb
Eaton

He's better than all those clowns.

What do you mean "has he hit a wall?" 7IP, 2ER, and 8Ks against the ANGELS yesterday. What kind of wall are you talking about?

I think I would take Moyer and Millwood over him, but then Perez over the others.

Oliver is the man! If he could just lower his HR ratio a little his ERA combined with his K numbers alone are enough to rank him highly. Love this guy. Strikesout anything that moves.

Oops! I saw 6 ER but that game was at Texas. Curious as to what his pitches are. Is it the slider/fastball combo that is getting people out?

I see him pitch some, I dont pay too much attention to pitches, but I am pretty sure he uses a curve, not impressive but effective, and a fastball. He is very young and very talented, he has taken over our rotation, he looks GREAT for us. I guess that trade for him wasnt as bad as I thought.

He throws a fastball/slider, he doesn't throw a curve. It was the trade that sent Giles to the Padres for Bay and Perez.

I'd might take Millwood over him, but it's very very close.
