Jose Reyes, beginning another rehab assignment, doubled in four at-bats for Single-A St. Lucie tonight.
Reyes played seven innings at shortstop. If he can avoid any additional setbacks, he'll probably come off the DL in a week.
How many times have we heard this, let me guess...he'll sprain his big toe tonight and be out another 2 months!!

Jose Reyes will play three games at Double-A Binghamton before being reassessed on Friday. Reyes was 0-for-3 with a sac fly and a stolen base last night in the first of the three games. The SB is a great sign. After Friday's assessment, Reyes will continue with Binghamton or be activated from the DL and make his 2004 debut. Jun. 16
The NY Times reported this morning that it is possible the Mets will activate him this weekend if all goes well at Binghampton. Jim Duquette said that he is fine physically (batted left handed last night, which was the side causing him problems last week), but he is not yet "game ready" for the major leagues.

Think positive!
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
While it is quite obvious that he will be the SS for the Mets next season, why wouldn't they put him at 2B during his rehab?? That's where he's playing this year.
