no no, he was not traded.
What happen was on the Piazza Home Run he was running back and misjudged where the wall was and Slammed into the Wall pretty hard. He was limping around, stayed in the game, showed that his leg and kneee were hurting and he left the game.
How serious? Im not sure, he hit the wall hard but I don't want to scare any beltran owners.

i seem to remember someone getting traded to the team they were playing - can't remeber the name though
mike magnante was traded from the a's for ricardo rincon of the indians right before the two played each other.

Jose Canseco got traded while he was on the on deck circle doing his swings. He was taken out right away. LaRussa got a lot of heat for that embarressment and I don't think Jose ever forgave him for that. Of course, if any A's fans can remember otherwise how it went, please correct me.
