Jose Contreras?

I just dropped Jose Contreras for Derek Lowe and then one of the other teams in my league just used their number one waiver priority to grab Contreras. Did I just make a huge mistake by dropping Contreras or is this guy an idiot for using his priority?

He's sort of an idiot. I would've kept Contreras over Lowe, but you can't deny that Contreras has a world of talent and high potential. However, he hasn't shown any control this year, so a first waiver priority for him is stupid.

I would rather have Lowe than Contreras and it is foolish to use a top priority pick to take on Jose, especially right now. He is a FA in my league and prolly will be until he can string together a decent start or two.

Correct. In my REALLY deep rostered 13-team league, Contreras has been sitting in the FA pool for SO long. I was the one who dropped him. I even posted a message in my league saying that someone should pick up this cancer. Not a soul. However, I'll probably pick him up again if he does well.
