Graves starting to slip?

Postby fjorderus » Sun Jun 13, 2004 12:09 pm

:~( Oh man, is Graves starting to slip now? He isn't suppose to have a superb year so he should level out at some point....but he's looking particularly terrible lately...

Perhaps it's the recent media spotlight gone to his head.

Any insight?

Last game wasn't really his fault. If you watched the highlights on Baseball Tonight, he got a guy to ground out with 2 outs...except the 2B flipped to the SS at 2nd instead of the sure out at 1st...all were safe. That juiced the bases and he gave up a double. He should've been out of the inning.

Graves is a notoriously fast starter who usually starts to struggle around now.

Career splits:
April: 3.81 ERA, 1.25 WHIP
May: 3.03 ERA, 1.14 WHIP
June: 4.26 ERA, 1.50 WHIP
July: 4.15 ERA, 1.40 WHIP
August: 4.95 ERA, 1.59 WHIP
September: 3.33 ERA, 1.28 WHIP

My advice: Sell high. I did.
