D. Jimenez 2B fact or fiction?

Vidro has been frustrating me all year and Jimenez has a decent OPS, and is hitting well lately and stealing a a few bases.

Jimenez will likely end up in his usual .260-.270 neighborhood, 10 HR, might steal 15 this season. Clearly, Vidro is the better career guy. But he's struggled this year and the fact he DH'd all week is troubling. He might be playing with some kind of injury that no one is talking about, which could explain the poor effort.

Let's still give Vidro the avg. edge. RBI, who knows. DJ could return to leadoff which could hurt, or stay where is, which probably pulls him even with Vidro. Power is supposed to be an edge for Vidro. SB's and runs are likely DJ wins.

It's a real tossup. My tendencies are to ride the vets for a long time, so I'll say Vidro. But it's sure no slam dunk.

Everyone is always all over Vidro on this forum, give the guy a break...

Since May 29th he has gone 16/47 (.340) with 5 R, 6 RBI, 5 BB and a SB.

Back to the question though...

In just about the same at bats, Jimenez is doing even better.

21/54 (.388) with 8 R, 3 RBI, 11 BB and 5 SB.

I like Jimenez as a fill in or even as a regular in leagues that count OBP or BBs
