There are ways to mask your IP address or location so that you can avoid blackouts.

It's legal because end-users are not bound to black out restrictions. Black restrictions are part of contracts between MLB teams and television broadcasters.

There is nothing illegal about masking your IP or surfing the web anonymously. And this is all you need to do to circumvent black outs.

The geo-location system that MLB uses has been a hot topic on tech boards. MLB is aware that their system isn't foolproof and is investigating other means to enforce black outs on users.

If you use a proxy server you can mask your IP address. MLB TV knows your location from your IP address, and that's how they determine who gets blacked out...but you can mask your IP address to get around it.

If you do a search for "Proxy Servers" and "MLB TV" I am pretty sure you'll find the thread...it goes into pretty great detail as to how to do it.

But yes, signing up for the deal is definitely legal...and great.

You can watch from any computer...in fact, I've used 3 different ones already.
