but it is true, I have been arguing with ZIG on this topic ALL SEASON LONG, my case was simple Santana is just plain too nasty and too good to cut. Coming into the season I had him ranked #15 of ALL SP behind Beckett at 14. Santana is young and the sky is the limit, he is the ACE of the Twins and thats all there is too it. Santana is a 200 K pitcher w/ potential to win 17 games this year. He is that good, he is the real deal, for anyone who cut him, Im sorry, you should have been patient and you should have taken the advice of many here (well I guess there was drop him advice also)
Johan just too much talent to ever give on, he is that good guys, and you don'y cut a guy who could
Im MUCH higher on Johan then I am Piniero, while I still wouldn't cut Piniero, I would do it if I had too, however I would have never cut Johan at any point this season

Nah im not insulting him, just having a little fun on the expense of out of the cafe´s number one Santana hater. I have this theory Johan did something nastu to him, stole a girl away, gave him an atomic wedgie... you know something of that sort
As for Pineiro or Santana id rather have Santana cause of his k´s and his team but Pineior is looking very solid right now. He´s a food number 2 starter if he could get out of Seattle

He had a good night, no quesion, not time to jump on the bandweagon yet fellas, just remmember then consecutive bad starts he gave you.
Just as long as its pointed out that ive never got off tha wagon. Ive been burned(Affeldt) and been redemed(Drew) with a strategy of taking chances on potential rather than dependable average players and ill keep doing it

I saw the game since I have a free preview of Extra Inning and he looked great! He has really stepped up for me! With Mussina and Wood out and Zito sucking I needed a solid outing like today!

After today there's no way you can argue that Santana isn't back among the elite pitchers in the game. All of those people who gave up on him should be eating their words by now, and kicking themselves for the rest of the season.
This field, this game, it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh people will come Ray, people will most definitely come.

the chisox are not really a weak hitting team.
Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he'll drown because you forgot to teach him to swim.

Yeah, it's a little early to say Santana is among the elite. I like the trend we've been seeing, and today's performance was great. I've stuck with him this season and still believe that he'll continue to produce well. Give him a few more starts before we place him among the elite.
On the other hand, if you haven't bought Santana on the cheap, the sale was probably over today.
