No, I don't think he's "gotta" be better than his last start, some relievers just cannot succeed as starters, *see Eric Gagne.

I think that he could really turn it around next start, unless he gets put back in the pen.

Gagne was a starter first.
I realize that, my point was that he is a reliever who couldn't succeed as a starter.
To clarify, I should of said "some pitchers can flourish as relievers but fail at starting", or something to that extent.
Either way, the gist of what I'm trying to say is that just because a pitcher is good out of the pen doesn't mean that he has to be good as a starter.
