(Pawtucket, RI) - The PawSox offensive woes continued on Tuesday night as Louisville won at McCoy, 5-1. Pawtucket outhit the Bats, but the Sox stranded twelve baserunners, including the bases loaded three times. Pawtucket managed just a single run in the fourth as Carlos Febles drove in Kelly Shoppach. The Sox have scored just two runs in their last twenty innings. The club drops to three games under .500 at 28-31. Tim Kester (5-4) took the loss. After going 0-3, shortstop Nomar Garciaparra said he felt fine and that "there's a very good chance" he could be back in Pawtucket Wednesday night. The teams square off again at 7:05. Brad Thomas (0-1) gets the rehab start. He'll be opposed by Brandon Claussen (3-4).
Notice the very good chance that he will be back there today!
I'll believe it when I see it. Nomar is dragging his a$$ ...
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
Maybe but I think Nomar has little more say than most of these news reports are letting on. The Sox are doing a good job of keeping this in-house but I definitely believe there is a bigger issue here than just Nomar's injury. Just my $.02.
