For the rest of the season...who has more value & by how much?
I have delgado & am considering an upgrade to Giambi. My thinking is a better lineup so more runs/rbi, generally higher avg & 13hr/ab vs. 22 for Delgado.

Are you serious?!??!?? Now that NY has figured out T.Clark can relieve Giambi's time on the field, he will be much healthier. Giambi has matched most of Delgado's stats thus far this year WITH LESS AT BATS!! Giambi is an OBP machine. See for yourself here:

Giambi's last DL stint was from a sprained ankle, rounding the bases. Obviously, Delgado is not the picture of health either...but I would still gamble on him I think. Neither is a bad option, and it should be relatively close anyways.
by the way, this was the 1st time Giambi has EVER been on the DL his entire career. You make it sound like he routinely is on the DL!
I'm just not sold on Delgado...he has no reason to put forth full effort when he knows his team has no chance. I feel that way about most of the Toronto team though...

not even a question delgado all the way. Giambi is striaght over rated. Delgado has had a slow start. He'll pick it up, he is known for owning in interleague play so maybe he'll bust outta the slump
delgado has to play, to bust out of his slump. He hasn't played since May 29th and there's no real timetable for his return. With that being said, i hope this rest is what he needed to bust out of his slump.

I'd say it's a close call, but words like "no question" and "overrated" are simply ignorant. Check out the career stats and you'll see it's awfully close. Giambi walks more, hits as many HRs, has a higher AVG & OBP, etc...Sure Delgado may be better in the field, but what league counts that?!??
