My entire starting pitching staff in my roto league is a disaster.
Keeper: Mike Mussina (one of three keepers), bad start.
5th Round: Randy Wolf, now on DL
7th Round: Joel Pineiro, crappy
12th Round: Adam Eaton, 2 wins
15th Round: Edwin Jackson, didn't make team
19th Round: Jon Lieber, 5+ ERA
20th Round: Tony Armas, DL'd for most of year
21st Round: Gil Meche, pitched self into minors
23rd Round: Kurt Ainsworth, crappy
24th Round: Brandon Claussen, pitched self into minors
Traded for John Thomson, (4.61 ERA for me), Bartolo Colon (7.58 ERA) and Pedro Martnez (12.60 ERA). The only thing saving me is a good bullpen, and Washburn and Woody Williams off the wire.
Missing the beginning of the draft and ending up with first pick Gary Sheffield.
Thinking Desi Relaford would provide some speed at 2B.
Not trading Glaus earlier on when I had the chance.
Not picking up Mora even though I've done it for the last three years and been the only one to believe he could be a good player out of my league.
Now for my starter mistakes: Starting Paul Hentgen 4 times, Lohse 3 times, picking up Leskanic, Picking up Terry Adams, starting R. Dickey one time, starting John Lackey 2 times, picking Arroyo up for his 2 "best games," missing Lieber's good starts and getting his first 2 bad ones, not starting Mussina for his last start.
Help with my team please:
Actually I have had exceptional luck so far this year but a few of my mistakes are drafting Eaton, Santana, Pineiro and Lieberthal(though I picked up Vic 2 weeks into the season). Not trading Marcus Giles when I had a pretty good offer sent to me a week before he got hurt. Same with Sexson. Same with Wolf.
Not picking up Griffey when he was dropped by somone. I too did not believe he'd stay healthy, last week I faced him and his hot week cost me a few categories.
Trading for Podsednik, not that I dont' think he'll turn it around, but my team is very slow and I'm not winning SB even with him. I recently made a few trades that upped my speed some, but not sure it was enough.
Protecting Jeter, then traded him for a draft pick at his lowest point.
Traded away Oswalt for Brett Boone before the season started.
Protected RJ, Schilling, and Mulder (that was the good part) and rounded out the staff by drafting Ponson, Myers, and Edwin Jackson (ahead of Peavy).
Drafted Ryan Wagner while Graves was still available.
Took Pierzynski WAAAAY too early.
