the babe ruth trade is a given but other than that i think the worst trade ever in baseball for one of the teams was the trading of barry bonds, i dont even remember who the hell thepirates got in that deal, but i could be a complete idiot and they could have signed him as a free agent. any way what do u think the worst trade ever was?

He was signed by the Giants as an FA. Worst trade ever? Hell, there's been a lot of them. As a Red Sox fan, the one that stands out for me is Jeff Bagwell to Houston for Larry Andersen. There's plenty of others that warrant mention, however. Longtime Cub fans have never forgotten Brock for Broglio. Reds fans of that era might have nightmares over Frank Robinson to Baltimore for Milt Pappas.
As a Mets fan, for me it's Dykstra/McDowell/Edens for Juan Samuel.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
Does anybody know who the Giants got Kent from the Mets for? I am pretty sure its a bunch of guys not even playing right now, but that trade could rank up there with the worst (or best, in my point of view) of them.

Giants traded Matt Williams to Cleveland for Kent, Vizcaino and Tavarz.
Not that bad, but still quite a steal for the Giants! Kent turns out to be an MVP and Matt Williams falls off the face of the earth and into the Arizona desert.
