imagine the player's salary if he was a good both as a pitcher and hitter. more realisticlly he'd probably be a closer and a hitter. but how about if he hit 300 25hrs 100rbi and had 40 saves with an era of 2.85 and 7 blown saves. how much would u play him?

I guess my original concept was someone who would excell at both, at the same time. Never going to happen, but interesting to think about it.

With a multi-million dollar contract I don't blame owners for forcing players into defined roles. There are quite a few college players who excel playing everyday positions and pitching. They will just never get the oppurtunity in the majors to try it.

I'd imagine that someone like Richard Hidalgo or Neifi Perez could potentially be effective pitchers, because they have such great (and accurate) throwing arms.
