I'm positive it was watkins. played with the cards in 1930 and hit .373 for the highest BA for a rookie in a full season.

Guess it sort of depends on when you consider Jackson a rookie. He played a couple partial seasons that he batted below .200 before .408 in his first full season.

according to the info I have. It names "Shoeless" Joe Jackson has the highest batting avg. by a rookie in 1911 he hit .408. If this is wrong then I'm sorry.
